On the one hand, I enjoy surprises. On the other, surprises are annoying. Often, surprises bring a smile and relaxation. And just as often, they can make life more difficult. And sometimes surprises jolt us out of our routines. They create abrupt attention-focused moments.
It is often a
surprise to me when the Holy Spirit reminds me, "BTW, I am with you all
the time and always will be." It is not a surprise that he is with me.
Rather, I am surprised that I didn't remember. I am surprised that I get so
busy in the kingdom and forget to spend time with the King.
It is no great
surprise that God is with me everyday and all the way. He promised that he
would accompany me in all my ministry for him. I would certainly be surprised
if I ever took a step and he wasn't present. I don't even want to think about
it.
I am thrilled by his
presence. I am eager to achieve all his plans and purposes. I love to open the
Bible and find his special message addressed to me. It is a joy to talk with
him and "hear" his voice resounding in my spirit. And when that happens,
it's a marvelous moment of affirmation that he is faithful.
And so I suppose I
have a choice. I can run around the kingdom trying to stay busy, or I can
calmly spend time with the King. When spending time with him, he has an
opportunity to speak while I listen.
Dear Father, thank
you for your presence and your promise to be with me always. Enable me to begin
everyday with you so that I may know your will for all my projects. I pray this
in the name of Jesus. AMEN
If you could
physically see Christ, Wouldn't You Stop and Talk With Him?
