"Now all things
are of God, who has reconciled us to Himself through Jesus Christ, and has
given us the ministry of reconciliation, that is, that God was in Christ
reconciling the world to Himself, not imputing their trespasses to them, and
has committed to us the word of reconciliation." (2Corinthians 5:18-19
NKJ)
How great is our
God! He is so great that he gave Jesus Christ, "who knew no sin," to
reconcile the world to himself. He is so great that "whosoever believes in
him" will not have their sins imputed to them but will be given eternal life
instead.
God is so great that
he has given the ministry of reconciliation to the Church. He is so great that
he has committed the word of reconciliation to all believers. God has acted so
that all the world will be offered his reconciliation through Christ.
This divine grace is
beyond my comprehension. If God were a company CEO, he would have fired the
whole lot and hired some new ones. If God were a contractor or a carpenter, he
would have destroyed the whole project and started over. But instead, God is a
father who loves his children. He is a father who offers reconciliation. He is
a father who dispenses grace!
So, he sent the
sinless Christ to a sinful world. He "who knew no sin" came to those
who knew every sin. The Righteous One came to the unrighteous ones. And he
didn't just show up in human history. He came to reconcile the unholy to the
holy; mankind to God.
In my opinion, he
made the worst deal ever, but he decided his children were worth it. He took my
sin and gave me his
righteousness. He took my punishment and gave me his liberty. He took my
anguish and pain and gave me his peace and comfort.
He reconciled me to
himself and entrusted me to minister this word: reconciliation. He left me here
with this ministry of reconciliation. So on behalf of Christ, I want to
faithfully minister reconciliation to all around me!
Dear Father, thank
for your reconciling action through Christ. Empower me to daily offer your
reconciliation to others. I pray this in the name of Jesus. AMEN
Be reconciled to God
today! Minister this word to someone now!
