The Family Circus cartoon (www.familycircus.com), for 5/28/14, at this link says it
all. When I get out of bed in the morning, my expectation sets my attitude and
perspective for the day. I can believe and hope for the best ever or I can
doubt and despair that all things will get worse.
It is an
"always/all things" issue. If I believe "This is the day the
LORD has made" then I expect to "rejoice and be glad in it"
(Psalm 118:24 NKJ). If I am confident that I "love God" and "am
called according to His purpose" then I expect "that all things (good
or not) work together for (my) good" (Romans 8:28 NKJ).
The Bible instructs
me to "always give thanks to God for all things." It also instructs
me to exhibit an "always" spirit of joy "making melody in my
heart." This daily, minute-by-minute expectation is evidence that I am "filled
with the Spirit" and Jesus Christ is my Lord (Ephesians 5:18-20).
First thing in the
morning, how do I think? During the morning, how do I think? When frustrations
and irritations come, how do I think? When the on-going, various issues of life
confront me, how do I think? At all times, in all places and in all circumstances
and in every way, what do I expect?
God says to his
people, "from this day forward I will bless you!" Be certain of this
one thing. Today will be an unforgettable day! The point is, will you remember
it as outstanding or as a disaster? Will you try to forget it? Or will you
never want to forget it?
Dear Father, thank
you for this marvelous day that you have given me. Empower me with the
expectation that you are directing my life and all things occurring in it. I
pray this in the name of Jesus. AMEN
Adjust your
thinking, your perspective, your expectation. Be blessed today!
