On the Hallelujah Side

"The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, To preach the acceptable year of the Lord.” (Luke 4:18-19 KJV)

In his hymn The Hallelujah Side, Johnson Oatman, Jr. wrote, “Once a sinner far from Jesus I was perishing with cold But the blessed Savior heard me when I cried. Then He threw His robe around me and He led me to His fold. Now I'm living on the hallelujah side!”

The gospel of Christ heals broken hearts. The gospel of grace and mercy and forgiveness cures spiritual poverty. Deliverance and liberty warms those frozen by this world’s addictions. The warmth of Christ will enlighten those who sit in darkness and the shadow of death. The liberty of Christ sets us free and breaks every bondage. No matter our individual circumstances and experiences, everyone is acceptable to God through Jesus Christ his son (John 3:16).

The Spirit of the Lord is upon me to proclaim this. He has anointed me to preach it. There is a hallelujah side to every situation! There is relief for your burden! There is a hymn of praise for you! Christ will throw his robe around you and lead you into his fold. You can live on the hallelujah side today.

Dear Father, thank you for the gospel of Jesus Christ and the anointing to proclaim it. Empower us to share this gospel of peace and liberty to those around us. I pray this in the name of Jesus. AMEN

Be strong and courageous today on the hallelujah side,
