Communicating With God

“By him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name. But to do good and to communicate forget not: for with such sacrifices God is well pleased.” (Hebrews 13:15-16 KJV)

I have a friend who sends me notes from time to time simply saying, “Thinking of you.” These notes always make me smile because they remind me of my friend. Usually, there is a percentage-off coupon attached or a free appetizer at a local restaurant. Nothing flamboyant or extravagant, just friends communicating.

God communicates with us too. My friend and I are limited by dropped calls, no towers, internet not available, no landline service or no mail, but God has no imitations. He can communicate at anytime wherever we are in the universe.

God attaches blessings too. His generosity is boundless. His gifts are priceless. His provision has no end. His heart is full of love and compassion. His mercy is everlasting. He sends all these to communicate his will and desire for us.

God’s communications touch us and fill us and cover us. We cannot contain his attached blessings because they are more than we can count. They boggle the mind. They exceed our arms’ embrace. Our heart isn’t large enough to hold them. Our cups truly overflow because of them.

Our God is great and greatly to be praised! Our gratitude is insufficient, but shown through worship and obedience it is how we communicate our love back to him. So we give glory and honor and praise to the only wise eternal God, our Savior and Lord.

Dear Father, thank you for communicating your love to us through Jesus Christ. Empower us to communicate our love back with worship and obedience. I pray this prayer in the name of Jesus. AMEN

Be strong and courageous today communicating with God,
