Glory To God!

After this I heard what seemed to be the loud voice of a great multitude in heaven, crying out, "Hallelujah! Salvation and glory and power belong to our God, for his judgments are true and just; for he has judged the great prostitute who corrupted the earth with her immorality, and has avenged on her the blood of his servants." Once more they cried out, "Hallelujah! The smoke from her goes up forever and ever." And the twenty-four elders and the four living creatures fell down and worshiped God who was seated on the throne, saying, "Amen. Hallelujah!" And from the throne came a voice saying, "Praise our God, all you his servants, you who fear him, small and great." Revelation 19:1-5 (ESV)

Note the key of time being used. After the destruction of Babylon, at the end of the Great Tribulation, just before the millennium kingdom is established, John hears a multitude of voices shouting praise and glory to our God for his justice. What a glorious outburst of praise!

This outburst occurs because God has exercised judgment and vengeance upon the immoral woman that corrupted the earth and killed his servants. And again the voices shout out the praises to God and the elders fall down before him in worship. And God enters into the worship with encouragement to all those who serve and fear him, “Praise our God.”

Note that God encourages all who reverence him, whether famous and powerful or weak and unknown, to praise him. It might be important to note that in order to be in that number then, we must begin to praise him here and now. Let it just burst forth! He alone is holy! He alone is worthy!

Dear Father, thank you for allowing us to praise and worship you. May we never fail to praise you and glorify your name. I pray this in the name of Jesus. AMEN
