Living By a Different Light

"For God, who said, "Light shall shine out of darkness," is the One who has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Christ. But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the surpassing greatness of the power may be of God and not from ourselves;  we are afflicted in every way, but not crushed; perplexed, but not despairing; persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed; always carrying about in the body the dying of Jesus, that the life of Jesus also may be manifested in our body." (2Corinthians 4:6-10 NAS)

Sunday, Sunday, what a great day! Then we wake up on Monday and despite Sunday's victory, life goes on and the enemy roars. How do we react to the afflictions? What is our response to his attack? What about the perplexing issues?

The fact is, we live by a different light. Our life reflects the knowledge of God through Jesus Christ. The glory of God shines in us through Jesus Christ. Our lives are not focused on the raging of the enemy. Our lives are focused on the face of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior.

And because of our Christ-focus, the enemy's afflictions do not crush us; the perplexing issues do not bring despair; we are not forsaken in the persecutions; and when the enemy knocks us down, we are not destroyed.

Our Christ-focus constantly reminds us of our Lord's death. It gives us this life which we expose to those around us so that he may be glorified through our living. O what a Savior! O hallelujah! O what a life we enjoy in him! It's incorruptible! It's indestructible!

It's a treasure that exhibit's the power of God against every enemy.

Dear Father, thank you for your treasure. Enable this earthen vessel to rely on your power. This I pray in the name of Jesus. AMEN

Be strong and courageous living by the light of Jesus Christ,
