"But without
faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that
He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him."
(Hebrews 11:6 NKJ)
Faith . . . the very
essence of our hoping. Faith
. . . the action we take in our hoping. Faith is our legacy. Faith
drives our belief about
the universe. Faith drives our worship. Faith
drives our future.
And it is impossible
to please God without faith. Throughout the New Testament, we see people coming
to Jesus for their needs. They came because they believed that he could and
would supply their respective requests and needs. And he did!
It is true that in
some places Jesus could not do many miracles, but it was because of their
unbelief not because he wasn't able or willing. It is impossible to please God
without faith! Consequently, without faith we cannot receive the blessings he
wants to provide.
I think it is
interesting that we only come to God in faith. If we don't believe, we won't
come and won't receive. If we believe, we will come and receive. It doesn't
require a PhD in Biblical Studies to comprehend this simple truth. Faith
pleases God!
God rewards those
who diligently seek him in faith. Faith to be redeemed, rescued, and saved!
Faith for everyday living. I wasn't rewarded because I found him. I was
rewarded because he found me! I was lost, but he found me. He offered me mercy
and grace. I responded in faith. He gave it willingly, because that is why he
came.
". . . and the life which I now
live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God . . ." Christ
lives in me! In him, it is a daily practice of "living by faith."
This faith living isn't only belief in him as the Son of God, but also that the Son of God supplies
all my needs according to his riches in glory.
Jesus said,
"Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe
that you receive them, and you will have them." (Mark 11:24 NKJ)
Dear Father, thank
you for supplying all our needs. Empower me to constantly reject doubt and walk
by faith in your Son, Jesus Christ. AMEN
Reject doubt! Walk
in faith!
