Act Today -- Consider Prayerfully -- Take the First Step

"For I say, through the grace given to me, to everyone who is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to think soberly, as God has dealt to each one a measure of faith." (Romans 12:3 NKJ)

Today's Scripture passage is a marvelous promise for renewing the mind, as well as achieving God's good and perfect will. I notice that the Apostle encourages thinking. The sort of thinking he promotes is thinking about myself.

And I believe Paul's intent is that I should think of myself in relation to renewing my mind and discovering the good and perfect will of God (Romans 12:1-2). But, I am not to think too highly of myself or form an elevated opinion of myself.

Instead, I am to think with wisdom and understanding of myself (v. 3). My thinking about myself (i.e., gifting, talents, abilities) must be considered from a moderate opinion. Think of me seriously, sensibly, and reasonably.

It so good to know that God anoints me, and every believer, with enough faith to easily achieve a specific piece of God's will and purpose. "God has dealt to each one a measure of faith." What a promise! God has implanted enough faith in me that, through sensible reasoning, I can discover and achieve God's will and purpose for my life.

Dear Father, thank you for the measure of faith you have implanted in me. May the Holy Spirit guide me to discover your will for my life. Empower me with your anointing to achieve the specific piece of your purpose for which you have called me. I pray this in the name of Jesus. AMEN

Accept God's Will. Reject the Fear. Act Today!
