Solutions

"Who then is a faithful and wise servant, whom his master made ruler over his household, to give them food in due season? Blessed is that servant whom his master, when he comes, will find so doing." (Matthew 24:45-46 NKJ)

Human beings think in terms of big issues. We want the million dollar prize. We want to come up with the next big solution to the world’s problems. And of course most of us get depressed over the obstacles and give up without making a dent of an effort.

Could there be a small, simple issue that gets things moving in the direction of a solution? It may not get media attention or an invitation to the White House, but it moves the ball with the right spin. It's not the solution, but it looks toward the solution.

How does one find this small and simple issue? The place to look is in your own soul. What has God inspired in you? What is the work to which you are called? Begin there. You can make a difference in the lives of those you serve, where you are. Solve the small issues that trouble the lives of those with whom you work. After all, such issues may be larger than you think.

We can do more than we think possible. Does the church need a hospitality room? Do something about it. Does the young adults class need a facilitator? Do something about it. What about the widows and orphans around you? Start a visitation ministry. Does the pastor need secretarial services? Do something about it.

The solution of the huge issues begins with a solution for the small challenges in everyday life. "Blessed is the servant who is busy when the Master returns."

Dear Father, thank for the eternal solution of Calvary. Empower us to serve faithfully in order to achieve your will. This I pray in the name of Jesus. AMEN

Look for solutions today,
