Hope

"My soul still remembers And sinks within me. This I recall to my mind, Therefore I have hope. Through the LORD'S mercies we are not consumed, Because His compassions fail not. They are new every morning; Great is Your faithfulness. 'The LORD is my portion,' says my soul, 'Therefore I hope in Him!'" (Lamentations 3:20-24 NKJ)

A songwriter penned, "Great is thy faithfulness! Great is they faithfulness! Morning by morning new mercies I see, All I have needed thy hand hath provided. Great is they faithfulness Lord unto me." What a marvelous spirit and attitude of worship!

Our day is not complete until we have worshipped Jesus Christ as God and Savior. Hess wrote, "From your heart give God your praise For his blessings all your days; Lift your voice to God above -- God of mercy, God of love."

The Bible is full of examples that may help us worship. When we reflect on God and his faithfulness to us, we can't help but worship him throughout the day. A little worship in the morning. A little worship at noon. A little more worship in the evening. Worship is how we keep our lives in tune.

Reflecting on God's mercies affirms his compassion does not fail. Reflecting on God's faithfulness adds a sense of new freshness to our relationship with him. Worship in silence before him (Psalm 46:10). Pause from a hectic pace and refresh the spirit (Psalm 42:1-2). Interrupt our focus for a moment to reflect on our spiritual needs (Psalm 51:1-10).

Worship in joy and gratitude (Psalm 65:9-13). Worship God for his answers to our prayers (Psalm 40:1-3). Then as sleep approaches, worship in reflection of God's faithfulness for today (Psalm 119:148). From the sunrise to bedtime, he is to be worshipped (Psalm 113:3).

"The Lord is my portion," says my soul, "Therefore I hope in him!"

Dear Father, thank you for the hope I have in you through Christ. Empower me to worship you throughout this day and everyday. I pray this in the name of Jesus. AMEN

Hope in the Lord today,
