Worship

The four living creatures, each having six wings, were full of eyes around and within. And they do not rest day or night, saying: "Holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty, Who was and is and is to come!" (Revelation 4:8 NKJ)

For the last 16 days I have been in Africa (the Republic of Congo & the Democratic Republic of Congo) teaching in leadership conferences (pastors, licensed ministers and emerging leaders). At my hotel, the internet was sporadic at best and actually seemed to work best during the day when I was involved in the teaching sessions. So consequently, I did not post any devotionals during this time. On my next trip I will purchase an in-country air card to use for these purposes.

All the ministry, and any results, are to the glory of God. It has been a very rewarding time of ministry. I have been blessed both by the anointing of the Lord and the responses from the people. I was privileged to be in the National Conventions in these countries at the end of their respective leadership conferences. And I sat amazed at the exuberance displayed by the people in worship.

Back here, many get fixated on a certain style of praise and worship. Some are rigid about what they refer to as a 7-11 song (7 words/phrases repeated 11 times). Over there, they were excited as they sang the same phrases and verses for as long as 20 minutes at a time. They didn’t worship only with mind and voice, but also with facial expressions and body language and movement. Their exuberance and energy never waned in the least. They were worshipping a loving Father and a holy God. As I watched and entered into worship with them, I thought, “what will heaven be like?”

Dear Father, thank you for safe travels and your grace to minister to your people. Empower me to never let my inhibitions degrade my worship. I pray this in the name of Jesus. AMEN

Let yourself go today and worship God in spirit and truth,
