O Magnify the Lord!

"I will bless the LORD at all times: his praise shall continually be in my mouth. My soul shall make her boast in the LORD: the humble shall hear thereof, and be glad. O magnify the LORD with me, and let us exalt his name together." (Psalm 34:1-3 KJV)

It's morning, noon or night, yet all is well with my soul. Well, maybe not all . . . the world is raging around us; relationships are breaking apart; families are being destroyed; souls are being lost; churches are in disarray. These disturb my soul!

I will not ignore the realities, however. Instead, I will be proactive. I will pray and seek God's will concerning how I am supposed to respond in my immediate "world." And in every case, I refuse to be overwhelmed by the circumstances and needs. The Spirit of the Lord is upon me to minister and I will boast in the Lord.

Though the enemy rages against God and his Christ (Psa. 2), I will bless the Lord at all times! I will continually praise him! He is greater than the enemy. God has never been defeated. He is greater than all my problems. He is greater than all my deficits. He is greater than all my needs. Our God is greater!

You see? I am asking God to look at the enemy's threats and grant boldness and courage to me in order that I may minister effectively for his kingdom.  I am asking God to operate the fruit of the Spirit in me. I am asking for the gifts of the Spirit to operate in my ministry by the name of Jesus. And I believe that I will receive what I ask for, because God is greater than any weapon the enemy may form against me.

Our God is so much greater than our finite minds can imagine or even understand. If we don't cautiously protect our faith, we will begin to magnify our circumstances and the enemy's raging above the power of our God.

O magnify the Lord with me! "For though we live in the world, we do not wage war as the world does. The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds" (2Corinthians 10:3-4 NIV).

Dear Father, who made the universe and all that is in it, we believe and are certain that you cannot be defeated. We know the battle is yours and not ours. Empower us to magnify you above all else. This I pray in the name of Jesus. AMEN

Be strong and courageous today magnifying the Lord,
